Philip is the newest edition to the ranks of Favourites Racing trainers.

 

Having ridden 160 winners in a ten year career as a jump jockey, including The Black and White Gold Cup at Ascot, The Killiney Novice Chase and The Midlands Grand National on such good horses as West Tip and Artifice, Philip turned to training, starting with 6 horses in 1985. He now has 100 horses under his care and has trained well over 1000 winners, finishing in the top four jump trainers every year since 1999.

 

His Minehead yard has sent out scores of big race winners, including successes in the Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, Hennessy Gold Cup and twice in the racing Post Chase.
