Andrew Balding
Andrew Balding succeeded father Ian and became trainer at the historic Kingsclere in 2003. Prior to becoming assistant to his father in 1999, Andrew was assistant to Lynda Ramsden in Yorkshire. The Balding family is steeped in racing hostory with the great Mill Reef trained at Kingsclere. Andrew was amateur jockey for his uncle Toby Balding and rode twenty winners including The Horse and Hound Cup and the Moet and Chandon at Epsom. In a relatively short time Andrew has put his name on the racing map globally through the exploits of Group 1 winner Phoenix Reach and in his very first season he was responsible for training Casual Look to win the Group 1 Vodaphone Oaks at Epsom.
Andrew is a young trainer with an impeccable pedigree who is capable of training horses at the highest level. Favourites Racing are pleased to add the Balding name to our portfolio of trainers.
