Something Wells is by Dolpour who is in turn by the great Northern Dancer sire Sadlers Wells and is a half brother to 2000 Guineas winner and Epsom Derby 3rd Doyoun. Dolpour himself won the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes along with the listed Winter Hill Stakes. He was also second in the Group 1 Dubai Champion Stakes at Newmarket. To date he is the sire of over 200 winners. The dam Linsky Ball won no fewer than 11 races.

 

In France prior to purchase Something Wells was a good winner of a novice hurdle at Auteuil and has since been placed three times over hurdles.

 

Something Wells won two chases and was second twice in the style of a progressive young chaser and in 2008/2009 was placed second on three occasions putting up career best performances. Racing with his customary exuberance and athleticism it will only be a matter of time before a nice prize comes along, which he richly deserves.

 

There is no finer prize than a Cheltenham Festival winner and Something Wells achieved that when winning The Freddie Williams Plate.
