This athletic and rangy gelding was bought at the Derby Sales in 2006. He is closely related to Dark Bolero and Kimanicky.

 

Swansbrook gained experience with each run and improved signficantly on his debut third at Ascot, with a convincing 8 lengths success. This was followed by a creditable third under a penalty at Taunton.  This season Swansbrook ran in two Novice Hurdles in the Autumn, when Alan King's horses were very much under a cloud. However, he was not disgraced in either run and at Ascot he put those early season races behind him by coming home a convincing winner, of what looked on paper a strong Novice Hurdle.
