Venetia Williams
Venetia is one of the UK's leading National Hunt handlers and has a magnificent training establishment in beautiful countryside close to the River Wye in rural Herefordshire. Formerly assistant trainer to John Edwards and Martin Pipe, Venetia also spent time with top Flat trainer Barry Hills and was one of the first women to ride in the Grand National. She has trained the winners of many big races including the 1998 Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup and King George VI Chase, the 1999 Murphy's Gold Cup and the Grand Annual Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, but some of her most memorable moments so far have been provided by Lady Rebecca, who was a tiny mare, but lit up Jump racing for 5 years, winning 13 of her 19 races, 7 of which were at Cheltenham.
