Mostly Bob (IRE)
Mostly Bob is a well balanced, strong son of the prolific sire of National Hunt winners Bob Back (Roberto) out of Town Gossip (Indian Ridge). Town Gossip won two races and was placed seven times and this is her first foal. He was bought as a foal and left in Ireland to mature.Mostly Bob went into training with Willie Mullins as a five year old and always showed ability, but was not rushed. On his racecourse debut at Leopardstown on Irish Champion Hurdle Day Mostly Bob put in a very polished and professional performance to win his Bumper, in extremely testing conditions under Patrick Mullins. The ground was totally against him that day and he will prove far better on good ground, which was the main reason for the switch to England. Sadly after winning and whilst being prepared for the Champion Bumper at the Punchestown Festival 2009 he suffered a pelvic fracture which curtailed his season.
Mostly Bob is fully recovered and has transferred to Philip Hobbs. He made a very encouraging debut over hurdles to finish second and improved significantly to land a Maiden Hurdle over 2m 4f without coming off the bridle. Under a penalty at Aintree Mostly Bob showed improvement once again to win a competitive novice hurdle, by five lengths.
